About Aleron:

Aleron must cope with a timeless existence, seeing those he loves suffer the fate of mortality, while he remains cursed with eternal life. What if your immortal origin as well as others of your kind were hidden from you by the one you loved most; the one who gave you into a life of darkness and a lust for the sweetest nectar? These dilemmas and more face Aleron, but he must first learn to live, to survive, and most of all, to feed.
Seduced by the alluring vampire Mynea, Aleron learns what it truly means to be immortal as he adapts to his new life and new insatiable lust. She is teaching him to give her what her maker never has. She desires a new king and a new coven. Hearts, minds, and vampire souls intertwine as long kept secrets crawl out from the grave, refusing to remain buried beneath earth and lies. A blood kiss between them reveals a darker and even deadlier soul that has learned of Aleron’s blasphemous existence. Vlad is the beginning, the father of them all. Mynea must not let her young prince learn of her ancient king. Can a vampire truly love and trust another of his kind when their very lives depend on skillful deceit?
Walking a thin line between life and death, Aleron is certain of one thing, if love is, then blood is.

About Kane:
Kane A. has followed the genre of fantastical creatures for as long as he could remember. Though a typical child and diligent student, his imagination never ceased to paint a surrealistic vision that could force many to question their own reality. Early on, Kane expressed his creativity by means of drawing, writing short stories ranging from science fiction to horror, as well as through poetry expressing love, hurt, and betrayal.
His fascination with the undead grew when he studied the history of the witch, werewolf, warlock, and sinking his teeth finally into the world of the vampire. Kane began his first of five novels detailing the lives and challenges of being immortal.
He now resides in Atlanta, GA where he spends the majority of his time writing.

K.S.  Hello and welcome to the blog. I am very excited to have you here. Why don’t we start off with a small introduction? Tell us a little about yourself.

Kane: Hi and thanks for having me. I hope you don’t mind my ready made dirty martini with extra large olives. I typically have one or two before or during my writing sessions. I affinity for writing started years before my affinity of the dirty martini. Ever since childhood, I remember retreating into my mind, unlocking my imagination through writing and hiding the results from my parents. I remember paying some friends of mine when I was in junior high to spend sometime in an old abandoned parking deck stairwell, where homeless people and dead God knows what else lurked in the pitch black spaces. They were only equipped with a tape recorder and the hope of surviving long enough to collect the promised 20 bucks! It was amazing how much data I collected from my studying our most basic fears: being alone in absolute darkness.

K.S.  Any interesting writing quirks or stories you would like to share with my readers?

Kane: I have an uncanny knack for realism in my writing. So I often want to experience what I am writing about first hand. That is why I decided to dive into the history of the undead beginning where the legend of Vlad originated, Romania. Typically I write at night and don’t sleep until the morning. I tend to scare people, just to record the reaction and later write about it in a realistic way.

K.S.  When did you realize you wanted to be a writer? What sparked the desire to pen your first novel?

Kane:   I knew at a very young age, before high school, that I wanted to be a writer. I just got side tracked with the rat race of life and all but lost the direction I should have been following. I am an avid movie goer and follower of anything horror or paranormal related. I often wonder the streets after midnight, searching and hoping to see phenomena that defies our logic and reason. On one of my wee morning strolls, I caught a vision of Aleron. Soon after, I could not sleep, eat, nor think of anything other than writing about what he revealed to me. I’m really lucky to have survived his company, for many others did not.

K.S.  What genre do you write?

Kane:   Fantastical and imaginative stories is what I bring to you. At some point I will write about my journey with Aleron, but for now, I will only convey what light he shares.

K.S.  What would you say has inspired you most in your writing career? Or, who is your favorite author and why?

Kane:   What has inspired me most is my insistent new immortal friend. You know, how do you deny a vampire? Aleron is very insistent, not that he needed to be. The story of the Strigoi is a fascinating one. Tales I would gladly tell until I can no longer write. Anne Rice and Bram Stoker are my favorite authors. Bran Stoker brought the modern day vampire into being while Anne Rice offered a window into the lives of immortals in an elegantly seductive way. Perfection is her book Memnock The Devil. I think I will read it again tonight.

K.S.  What does your family think of your writing?

Kane:   My parents are very supportive and happy I decided to follow my passion. My siblings and sons are equally supportive. But most of all, Schnipps has been there every step of the way; through the countless sleepless nights to the incessant hammering away at 3 am on the mac book pro. I couldn’t have done it without bugging her the entire way.

K.S.  What was one of the most surprising things you learned while creating your book?

Kane:   I learned that reality is not so real, and dreams forge our future. My handle on logic has been brought into question, as well as my understanding of the dead and undead. What is clear to me now is we are not always alone when we think ourselves to be. When you are walking at night and no one is around, that feeling that makes you look over your shoulder or walk a little faster is your sixth sense telling you to beware. They are always with us!

K.S.  What inspired you to write your novel?

Kane:   A desire was born in me to pen a story filled with truth, imagination, and a few twist that Aleron allowed. He calls it “liberty of bearing witness.”

K.S.  Can you tell us a little about your novel?

Kane: Sure. Let me take another swig of this martini. Mmm, that always hits the spot. Now back to ‘Aleron’: The story takes place in the 18th century eastern Europa and Egypt. The supreme vampire father Vlad has surrounded himself with many beautiful female vampires. He nurtures them like a father and loves them like a king to his princesses. He uses their alluring seductive powers to expand his power and wealth. Vlad allows them to do whatever they please except one thing: they are forbidden to make another male vampire. Now many of them, despite the inherent competition, lies, and betrayal, learn to live with one another in harmony accept for Mynea. Her heart longs for exclusive devotion. And she leaves the coven and seeks a king of her own in the land of Alexandria Egypt. There she encounters a human who she makes in her own image and bestows upon him the dark gift. His name is Aleron and he develops unconditional love for his maker. Mynea leaves her young prince for her ancient king and now Aleron is left alone. Neither male knows of the other until Vlad’s first immortal lover,  Pandora, discovers Aleron’s blasphemous existence. Now she has what she needs to betray her newly appointed queen, Mynea, and win back Vlad’s love. However, Aleron has plans of his own once secrets are revealed!
