I have title envy when I see other peoples work. I'm a terrible namer. I called Immortalis, "Book," for the longest time before I decided on it's name. Even now I'm not sure it's good enough.
So how about you? How did you come up with the titles for your books/stories? Are you happy with the names you've given your work?
As I write book 2, I'm finding I'm still no good at naming. Looks like it will remain "Book 2," for a while.

I'm terrible with titles too. I have really generic ones right now. But hopefully someday an editor will help find the perfect one for me! I know they're important, but finding the perfect title just isn't my thing!
For me, it depends. The novel I'm querying right now took me forever to come up with a title. But other stories give me their titles right away. For what it's worth, I like Immortalis. :D
I find the less I stress over it, the easier one just naturally works itself out.
And plus, I know having a working title is crucial, but I feel less pressure knowing the final decision would come down to the publisher/editor, anyway. Takes the pressure off!
You know, it seems like EVERYBODY is blogging about titles lately! I need to join in and do a post! Hopefully I'll answer your questions in that post.
For now, all I can tell you is that I come up with titles in strange ways.
Good point about the title changing. I think I need to try and put less emphasis on it.
Titles are tricky. I know a couple of people trying to find a good title.
I like Immortalis alot! Good luck with the next one. :-)
Ugh! Titles are difficult for me as well. I usually keep a journal and jot ideas over the course of months (usually when I'm writing the novel) and then - at the end - go throught that list and either take one or toss the whole thing. Don't stress too much, however, I've had many a friend who struggled over a title only to have the publisher change it!
I do that too, with jotting ideas down. I just never feel quite satisfied with the final name I pick.
Glad you guys like Immortalis!
Chosing a title is never easy, but I don't stress about it. There's a very high chance the editor will change my title anyway.
Hey, if you know anything about registering a domain name or setting up a website, pop over to my blog and fill us in. Thanks.
