Wow what a headache. But I wanted to go DIY all the way. The only thing I paid for was cover design. I wanted to figure this all out.

Let me tell you...it's defintiely a learning experience. But at least now that I've done it, I know what to do and what not to do.

(BTW I think you need a degree in advanced computer science just to add page numbers in word, if you don't want them to start on page 1 say you want page 1 to actually start on page 9- OMG Nightmare)Roxanne Rhoadshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08727784602361446818noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-919894200039153342.post-80637474081474209152011-04-13T10:38:47.279-07:002011-04-13T10:38:47.279-07:00For lightning you need to upload a PDF. That's why I use Book Design Wizard. I can do quite a lot of fine tuning with it.Katie Salidashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15159923761047042193noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-919894200039153342.post-38330994335813881912011-04-13T08:57:43.239-07:002011-04-13T08:57:43.239-07:00Yeah, it really is pretty easy. I imagine it was once kind of scary, as from the forums it seems the templates are newish.

I have no experience with lightning source, but the createspace templates are actually formatted .doc files, so you might be able to use them to create a good file to upload to lightning source, too.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02264075796596433731noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-919894200039153342.post-15999006325555657592011-04-12T20:36:59.869-07:002011-04-12T20:36:59.869-07:00Sounds like Createspace makes it very easy!! The template has a commonly used font in a common size. All I changed was the line spacing from single to 1.15, because I thought it looked more pro.

The only difficulty I had was the table of contents, because I had more chapters than would fit on the page. I should get the proof in a few days, so we'll see.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02264075796596433731noreply@blogger.com
